Departmental Undergraduate Group

A Departmental Undergraduate Group (DUG) is a group of concentrators who meet regularly and plan programming in tandem with faculty that aims to create a sense of community within an academic department.

The Middle East Studies Departmental Undergraduate Group (DUG) is run by students in the Middle East Studies program who wish to build community both inside and outside of the concentration. The DUG aims to highlight the undergraduate-oriented nature of the department, and encourage the expansion of the concentration within related fields. In addition to helping fellow students prepare for capstone projects and study abroad programs, they organize a number of events, including information sessions on the concentration and the Undergraduate Paper Series.

All students are welcome to attend and participate in the DUG regardless of concentration.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the DUG at CMES@brown.edu.
