Meet Our Student Assistants: Inari Barrett '27
Inari Barrett '27 is a first-year student planning to concentrate in International Public Affairs on the governance and policy track. Having studied Arabic for three years, her love of the language inspired a passion for Middle Eastern history and culture and ultimately the West’s relationship to it. While working as an intern at local non-profits,Inari has spearheaded personal and collaborative projects to combat health inequity, encouraged connections to culture and ancestry, and campaigned against increased police funding. As co-president of her school’s multiculturalism organization, Inari was responsible for researching and presenting on topics such as orientalism and environmental racism as well as organizing and promoting keynote speakers, fishbowls and panel events on a range of topics aiming to inform the school community on non-Western voices and experiences. Inari cannot wait to further her understanding and studies of the Middle East through her work with the Center for Middle East Studies and she is excited to collaborate with students who share her passion.
